When you’ve got friends or family staying with you, you’ll want to make sure that they’re enjoying their stay as much as possible. You might take them to your favourite spots and restaurants around town, but ensuring your guest gets a good sleep is important, too. Below, we’ve got a guide to different Jay-Be Guest Bed mattresses so that you can find out which mattress is right for you and your guest.

Airflow Fibre Mattress

An Airflow Fibre Mattress is made up of smart polyester fibres which are branded together to offer varying softness and support that’s similar to foam. However, unlike foam, Airflow Fibre mattresses are free from Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), are odourless, and are hypoallergenic. Airflow Fibre Mattresses are also filled with a unique open cell structure for ventilation, which allows for more breathability while reducing moisture build-up for a fresher, drier, and healthier sleep environment. The mattress’s breathable nature also helps to maintain your body temperature while you sleep, ensuring maximum comfort. Airflow Fibre mattresses are budget-friendly and are recommended if the guest bed will not be used all that often. Airflow Fibre mattresses are also recommended more for children rather than adults as they provide less support.

Memory Foam Mattress

Memory foam is a special type of polyurethane foam, originally developed by NASA. Memory foam is unique in that it softens in relation to body heat, and it also moulds to your individual body shape for increased pressure relief. With this, memory foam mattresses provide good support and are helpful for back complaints. Jay-Be memory foam mattresses also combine a top layer of memory foam with a base layer of Airflow Fibre. This helps to increase breathability for a drier and fresher mattress. Jay-Be’s memory foam mattresses also tend to be more expensive than Airflow Fibre mattresses, but they are suitable for regular use.

Pocket Spring Mattress

A Pocket Spring mattress contains a core of individual springs, each resting within their own fabric pocket. This allows each spring to move independently, enabling the mattress to adapt to the contours of your body for tailored support and comfort. All Jay-Be Pocket Spring mattresses have Smart Airflow Fibre comfort layers which offer recovery and support like foam. However, unlike foam, Airflow Fibre is free from VCOs, is odourless, and hypoallergenic – this allows for a healthy, breathable sleep. Pocket Spring mattresses tend to last longer but are a bit more expensive. Jay-Be’s Pocket Spring mattresses are also recommended for regular use, and for adults.

Deep Sprung Mattresses

Jay-Be’s Deep Sprung mattresses tend to be the most expensive, but they’re quite reliable and suitable for regular use. They’re also contract mattresses – this means that they’re supplied in hotels, guest houses, and other contract environments. They’re also topped with wool and cotton blend comfort layers. Wool is a natural ‘smart’ fibre that continually responds to changes in local humidity. Wool’s natural ability to absorb and release moisture helps to keep you and your mattress dry, and your body temperature constant for a comfortable sleep. Deep Sprung mattresses feature a traditional interconnected spring system at its core. Each spring is connected to its neighbouring spring, with all springs acting as one uniform support system. This high-density deep spring interior is different to the micro-pocket system interior that other mattresses are designed with.
