B-Sensible Anti-Allergy Fitted Sheet with Tencel & Dermofresh

Saving money is a bonus when you’re a student, so getting a 2-in-1 fitted sheet and protector is a great idea. Belledorm 100% Cotton Cellular Blanket

This blanket is made with an open weave, so it adds plenty of warmth without the weight. Having a blanket is great for layering during the winter, or simply when you’re looking for a cosy night in. It’s also a treat for when you have friends over and, as it’s machine washable, it’s super-handy for students! Aerobed Single Air Mattress

Student accommodation hasn’t always got the largest rooms, and this can be frustrating when you want to have friends over. You can solve this problem with an airbed, which won’t take up as much room as a bed, but it still offers comfort for a good night’s sleep. This bed can be plugged in and inflated in three minutes, so it’s perfect for when you’re coming home after a night out. Dormeo Octaspring Body Zone Mattress Topper

Student accommodation also doesn’t have the most comfortable mattress, so getting a mattress topper is a smart way to make sure you can enjoy a soft, even surface when you’re sleeping. Helping Your Child Make A Home Away from Home

Helping Your Child Make A Home Away from Home

Starting university and moving into student accommodation is a scary time for everyone, but especially the parents who are watching their little ones leave the nest for the first time. However, you can help make this better by helping your child set up their new home. While they’ll have shared rooms, like the kitchen and, in some cases, the bathroom, their new bedroom is entirely theirs, so making it feel like a new home will help ease your worrying. Afterall, getting the bedroom right is half the battle when it comes to making a new place feel like a haven.

Get the Right Bedding

Most student accommodations have single beds, so the best way to prepare for moving is to make sure your son or daughter has single bed linen. Even better, get two or three sets of single duvet covers and pillowcases so that they can be easily rotated when it comes to washing day. If your child is moving into private accommodation, where there’s usually room for a double bed, double check what bed they’ll be sleeping on to make sure you get the right bed linen size.

Also, to make sure they’re sleeping comfortably, it’s a good idea to get a mattress topper, as student accommodation doesn’t always have the most comfortable mattress. A mattress topper will ensure that they’re sleeping on a soft, smooth surface, so they’re getting better sleep and waking up ready for the day ahead.

Extras For a Homely Touch

To add a homely feel, add blankets and throws to the bedroom. Not only does this help aesthetically, but also keeps your child warm when winter draws near, as student accommodation is not always the warmest. Throws and blankets will also come in handy for when friends are over!

With Fresher’s Week and a whole new world to explore, you don’t know how often your son or daughter will be sleeping in their bed, but it’ll be nice to know that they’ve got a good bedroom waiting for them.
